“His latest release, which we’re excited to premiere today, features a pair of singles recorded with his sister Kathryn, a local folk singer-songwriter and a puppeteer at the Center for Puppetry Arts. Together the duo weave a tangled web of melodies that continuously overlap and intersect in a manner that is both darkly alluring and yet oddly mirthful.” -Immersive Atlanta
On November 3rd Kinjac will be releasing a pair of new singles featuring his sister Kathryn O’Shea as a guest vocalist.
After 5 solo albums where Kinjac (aka Michael O’Shea) played and produced every sound, these are the first original Kinjac tracks to have anyone else on them. His sister Kathryn O’Shea is a banjo-playing folk singer/songwriter and a professional puppeteer/actor in Atlanta, GA. Kinjac will be beginning work producing her debut solo album in his new studio in Los Angeles this winter.
The first song, “Tired of You” features both of them singing a new original. The second track is a reworked version of the older Kinjac song “Arrivals” from the album Incandescent. This version swaps out the electronic percussion for a live drum set track by Kinjac, and replaces his vocals with Kathryn’s solo vocals.
The music video for Shattered from the new Kinjac album Broken Mirrors premiered on Bandcamp Daily today. The feature article includes an interview of Michael O’Shea (aka Kinjac). The music video was filmed, directed and edited by Michael O’Shea and features his wife, visual artist Jenni O’Shea.
The aptly named music review blog The Revue premiered a new song from the upcoming Kinjac album Broken Mirrors. The song is called “Champagne” and it was posted along with its lyric video featuring lots of champagne flutes being smashed.
The music video for Possession from the upcoming Kinjac album Broken Mirrors was selected to be screened at Music Video Asheville, an annual juried awards show for Asheville area musicians and filmmakers that’s now in its 9th year.
